Corks + Caftans

Minor stumbling block on the Oregon Trail.

March 5, 2010 6 Comments

Carey in happier times at Tyrus Evan/Ken Wright (notice how she is unknowingly clutching her stomach)

Cue a really big “womp, womp” horn right here.

Last night, we had the equivalent of 3 rotted buffalos, a snapped axles, 2 broken wagon wheels, one of our mules collapsed, and all the children were wiped out with dysentery.

Actually, only I was wiped out. I came down with something right after dinner that apparently is going around. Something violent. I nudged Rob less than an hour after we went to sleep (on the early side, too) and spent the remainder of the evening turning myself inside out in the bathroom. I am just now rising from the ashes with a delicious Lemon-Lime Gatorade. And just in time to head to Willamette Valley Vineyards for a tasting! (Cue the second “womp, womp”, but at least I got to try it before we came.)

I mostly feel bad for Rob. Poor guy, he had some serious hair holding duties last night and he did so with flying colors. Or maybe that was my barf. (jk, jk)

More later!

Oh no! What the heck bug did you get? Well at least you’re being a trooper and carrying on! I hope the rest of the trip gets better! Hang in there Rob! 😉

That stinks! Look on the bright side, you won’t have gained any vacation weight. I always try to put a positive spin on a stomach bug. Just kidding. Feel better.
