Corks + Caftans

Can’t find my way home.

[Willow dress + Jeffrey Campbell booties + Rebecca Taylor sweater + J.Crew belt + feather earrings from etsy.]

Yes’m. Still wearing wool sweaters up here. And I gotta be honest with you: I almost snapped yesterday. For the 6th day in a row I was unable to see anything beyond the trees across the muddy road. So I slid open a window and leaned my head out and yelled at the top of my lungs! I turned around to see Eli gripping the rug with his tail the size of a feather duster.

I had a sore throat the rest of the day, but it was worth it.

We weaved through some old-growth pines to find a little beaver dam. So lush and green, hidden back there in a clearing. Decided not to take pictures so you could see it only when it was glowing under the sun, not shrouded in mist.

I wonder if the beavs did this in response to some mutiny in the dam:

I like to keep it classy with the Bud Light. And keep it funkdafied with a little Blind Faith. Other songs I noted yesterday that kept me from leaping from the window included: Bad Moon Rising (CCR), Seven Days in Sunny June (Jamiroquai, sort of cruel but effective), Beam Me Up (Go Back to the Zoo, hi-yah!), and Heart & Soul (the one and only Huey).

But what am I saying? Y’all are probably all soaking up Vitamin D in a place that actually understands what May is supposed to be like. If you’re getting crispy and want to feel like a wet rat for a day or two with cheap beers in the woods, however, I’m your girl.

I feel you on the cold weather — at least it’s a damn cute wool sweater you’re wearing, though! The color of that dress is so perfect on you, and I am crazy obsessed with that fifth photo. I like what you got goin’ on here. 🙂
