Yes’m. Still wearing wool sweaters up here. And I gotta be honest with you: I almost snapped yesterday. For the 6th day in a row I was unable to see anything beyond the trees across the muddy road. So I slid open a window and leaned my head out and yelled at the top of my lungs! I turned around to see Eli gripping the rug with his tail the size of a feather duster.
I had a sore throat the rest of the day, but it was worth it.
We weaved through some old-growth pines to find a little beaver dam. So lush and green, hidden back there in a clearing. Decided not to take pictures so you could see it only when it was glowing under the sun, not shrouded in mist.
I wonder if the beavs did this in response to some mutiny in the dam:
I like to keep it classy with the Bud Light. And keep it funkdafied with a little Blind Faith. Other songs I noted yesterday that kept me from leaping from the window included: Bad Moon Rising (CCR), Seven Days in Sunny June (Jamiroquai, sort of cruel but effective), Beam Me Up (Go Back to the Zoo, hi-yah!), and Heart & Soul (the one and only Huey).
But what am I saying? Y’all are probably all soaking up Vitamin D in a place that actually understands what May is supposed to be like. If you’re getting crispy and want to feel like a wet rat for a day or two with cheap beers in the woods, however, I’m your girl.

That second photo is amazeballs!! Seriously.
It seriously is getting beyond depressing with this effing weather.
Way obsessed with that second shot, ugh the treeeeeees! So gorgeous!
hi pretty girl. i almost spit my lunch out when i read the word “beavs”.
this post is beautiful…the photos make me feel all warm and cuddly inside. 🙂
The grass is always greener. I could go for a getaway in the mountains about now… wanna trade?
I feel you on the cold weather — at least it’s a damn cute wool sweater you’re wearing, though! The color of that dress is so perfect on you, and I am crazy obsessed with that fifth photo. I like what you got goin’ on here. 🙂
