Corks + Caftans

A Scandinavian farewell.

December 24, 2010 10 Comments

[ASOS silk shorts + Madewell tights + Sam Edelman boots + Shopbop Bop Basics sweater & hat + vintage L.L. Bean shearling bomber + Gorjana Sedona pendant & gold shell pendant looped together.]

Popped out to the Parting Glass tonight to bid farewell to Radigan, my dearest enabler of atomic hangovers, who is off to the North Pole for a little sojourn through Iceland, Sweden, and onward. It’s a good thing we are basically banned from each other’s company until further notice, after a recent Thursday night when the two of us got the better of each other—or maybe it’s the Miller High Life to blame, or the freeness of them—or else I would miss him something fierce.

Don’t get locked up somewhere where I can’t bail you out, bud!

I want those silky pieces of sold-out heaven!!!!

Sans the Maserati, mansion, and gold records I’m going with “Life’s Been Good” by Mr. Joe Walsh.

If not for the mere fact that how can you possibly have a bad day when you hear this (???!), then for the line, “They say I’m crazy, but I have a good time” …

Take it or leave it, sister!

Happy Holidays to you, Rob, & Eli

OMG, those shorts are *adorable* (although I am not sure that I can rock them as well as you, pretty girl). & I am a size 4!

Okay, theme song by Donovan: ” I love my shirt”
Ahem, could be altered to “I love my shorts.”

PS I adore your sweater. Are you buying at shopbop in the UK?!!

Omg, I just got my Asos velvet shorts last week (took about a week longer than expected), but so worth it! Can’t wait to style them, and get them CareBear approved! 😉

Thank you for the lovely giveaway! Merry Christmas to you, Rob, and baby Eli!

Lovin’ those shorts…Don’t have a great theme song choice, but wearing those shorts could make one feel like Ms. Hannigan, in the best possible way, which would just be awesome.

    Merry Christmas!

Super cute shorts! I’d love a pair. I tried the shorts/tights look for Christmas, and loved it. I’ve never thought about what my theme song would be, but one of my favorites now is this: http://www.ilike.com/artist/Brandi+Carlile/track/Dying+Day

I would look like a fool in those shorts but my current theme song (which changes depending on the weather and my mood, duh) is probably Kings of Leon “Back Down South” as cheesy as that sounds.

mmm, Joni. And you’re right—I didn’t. Might as well. Is and always will be Humble Pie’s “Roadrunner”— feel the funk. (On a bad day, Spooky Tooth’s “Feelin’ Bad”)
