Corks + Caftans

Photo journal: Rockport, MA.

It was groovy.

The subtle nuances of a New England coastal town that make you murmur, “I feel like I’ve been here before.” Quirky establishments that make you want to come back, however.

We moseyed into town and I had to say little more to Carey than, “Look, hun, there’s a cat.” Three cats, 3 struedels, 2 coffees and a view of the ocean later, and we were on our way back to Vermont with Carey saying, “That shook something loose in me,” and I know she meant, out of all the above, the water. My girl needs her ocean.

[Luna the cat.]

[Goggled pooch.]

[Seafood.]

[Another friendly neighbor.]

[It’s usually hard to talk Carey out of renting a seasonal hellhole like this, especially when there’s a sign telling you to do so. What can I say; I married a gypsy.]

Get there next time you’re around Boston. And hit up Helmet’s Struedel… and hit up the head. We quickly fell in love with this spot.

Love it there. Is it still a “dry town”? Though we didn’t mind because the places we went let us carry in our own wine – with no corkage fees. That was years ago, so not sure if that’s still the case.
