Corks + Caftans

Thinking outside the box.

June 18, 2012 3 Comments

[Brunch gear today: Eloise silk bathrobe, worn as jacket + ShopBop Bop basics dress + antique squash blossom necklace & cuff + Jeffrey Campbell booties + House of Harlow antler ring.]

If it took this many weeks to get to our first alleyside sunset beer on the garage-top deck, it was worth it.

Only a few minor (and some major) set backs so far in OOFH move-in/remodel land. Most notably, the cool cat door we installed for Eli (pls see OOFH Tumblr) to keep his boonie box in the basement has proven too cumbersome for a he who cannot hold it, and we had our second incident of him making like a hoomin and dropping a deuce in the actual toilet. [I say in, but it’s more like on.] I’m not sure how I feel about this, but it’s with a mixture of pity and amusement that I regard my resourceful little feline!

Stretching budgets has led to stretching wardrobe possibilities—although I can’t say that’s what led to my wearing a bathrobe to brunch yesterday. Wearing slips and nightgowns in public has become my new MO, and the results don’t suck.

I remember the day I brought it home and tried it on for Rob, over jeans: “Oh, I can wear this outside. Right? I’m totally wearing this outside.”

Now we just have to get Eli to do things outside… but not outside the box.
