[Second Self Thai Wheat Beer, sampled at Blowin’ Smoke in Savannah, GA.]
Doing this in reverse because I was too busy doing summer this summer to do much posting. Bookmark for the next time it rolls around, which it always does—not to state the obvious.
I mentioned before that I finally had a, like, real summer for the first time in ages. It makes fall not feel like such a shock to the system when you actually squeezed all the bourbon-soaked drops out of summer. As excited as I am for fall, here’s a little nostalgia to whet your palate for next year, in the form of tiny dresses, beer, wine, and places to soak up Virginia’s convection-oven-like summer days—things of a seasonal nature, which makes them fleeting and precious and deliciously unavailable so the heart can grow fonder.

[Free People dress—sold out, boo!—and Sigerson Morrison sandals. I lived in this dress this summer.]

[21st Amendment Hell or High Watermelon, as good as seasonal summer beers get. Recommend.]

[Hospitality with no match at the 2016 Irvington Crab Festival. We picked crabs til we could pick crabs no more.]

The spectacular, summer evening-ready line up from the Dog & Oyster winery, part of the Hope & Glory Inn in Irvington. Stay there, drink here. They do tastings and have oysters and tapas on summer evenings, plus a fun evening boat booze cruise.
Bye bye, summer. Now to go drink some dark fall ales, sip some inky Rioja, wear leather pants again and peep those leaves.

p.s.: how I toned my inner thighs this summer:
