Corks + Caftans

Girl from the Pawn Shop(bop).

July 12, 2009 2 Comments

Tonight I entered myself in a shopbop.com contest, Facebook Most Fashionable Fan. I was all jumping out of my skin and waking Rob up from sound sleeping to ask what I should wear (my entire wardrobe is basically from shopbop, including undies).

[Option 1]

Fingers crossed. I just wanted to do ShopBop justice: they have the best buyers, the most amazing stylists, and do everything with a touch of rebelliousness that I love. I see that I am not alone in this sentiment.

Rules are: you (1) name your outfit, (2) mention everything in it, then (3) explain why your outfit is fabulous. I named mine after my favorite Black Crowes song, and went from there:

(1) “Girl from the Pawn Shop(bop)”. (2) Daughters of the Revolution Happy dress, Rachel Pally shrug, Yves St Laurent fringe purse, Michael Kors fringe boots, Gorjana shell pendant necklace, Citrine by the Stones rain earrings, Gara Danielle cuff, Bop Bijoux wrap bracelet, Made Her Think skull ring, Billy Kirk leather cuff, JCrew bangle. Not included in photo: Black Crowes ticket stubs. (3) Since I was 10, I’ve been obsessed with the Crowes. I live, eat, breathe, and dress those guys. I love that luxe hippie, groovy, backstage pass, freewheelin’ Bob Dylan style in my music and my clothes. This outfit is amazeballs b/c it takes the “dirty” out of hippie and says, “Don’t worry about it. I’m with the band.”

[Final option]

[Outfit that didn’t make the cut: Alexander Wang t-shirt, Nanette Lepore vest, Current/Elliott shorts, Theory belt, Kors boots, vintage Nixon political pin, Citrine by the Stones earrings, Made Her Think ring, etc.]

Good work to all the ladies who submitted. May the best man win.

Great outfits! And you look so pretty! Can’t bring myself to wear shorts yet. Hubby says my jiggly legs are sexy, but I’m not so sure…

I hope you win- you are certainly the most fashionable person I know (yeah, stiff competition there 😉

I’m gonna have to check out this shop bop thing.

And, when you next come to Jax, can we make a date with you and my closet??

Oh, and did that twitter/bloggy info help ya any? Glad I can share some of my knowledge with you (as you are always doing with me). Lemme know if you need any more info- I’ll be happy to help!
